Linda Bowden
Chapel Choir Director
Linda Bowden – Chapel Choir Director, born in Morristown, spent her adult life teaching and educating children of all ages but her favorite age group embraces preschoolers and kindergartners.
She began her teaching career in NJ, taught in Dover as an ESL teacher, Maryland teaching grades 2 and 3, Gettysburg, PA teaching 2nd grade and later owned and operated a preschool before returning to NJ to teach in Short Hills where she retired in June after 17 years as a kindergarten teacher.
“I love singing and music of all kinds (maybe not heavy metal so much) and joined the choir to sing with Dr. Anne (and learn as much as I can from her). As a result, I fell in love with Grace Church and the people and programs it runs and supports.
I mentioned to Dr. Anne that I was going to miss working with the young children after retirement, and before I knew it, I was recruited to be the Chapel Choir Director. I love it! Together with Katie Hendrix and Chickie Monkmeier, we look forward to Fridays where we can sing and share with the eager boys and girls each week.
Besides trying to see my 10 grandchildren as often as possible, I split my time between Madison and Gettysburg tutoring, doing Chapel Choir, reading and singing lessons with Dr. Anne.”
