Pandemic Hunger Relief
Grace Church is responding to the growing numbers of individuals, families, and children in New Jersey who are food insecure due to the pandemic. We have increased the number of organizations that we partner with and are striving to increase the amount and quality of our donations to them while coping with the unique logistical challenges and safety concerns we currently face.
We are proud to partner with the following organizations:
-
St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Newark, supporting their weekly lunch program and food pantry;
-
First Baptist Church of Madison supporting their weekly food pantry,
-
food pantry at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dover,
-
Military Assistance Pantry in Paterson, supporting their once a month pantry supporting military families and veterans. The MAP is run by the Great Falls Rotary Foundation.
-
North Porch Women & Infants Center supporting their mission of providing critical supplies for babies and toddlers in need.
nourish.NJ
Formerly: Community Soup Kitchen
Coordinators: Kirk Nixon
During the pandemic, the best way to support nourish.NJ is with a monetary donation through their website, which allows us to buy as-needed items on a day-to-day basis.
Souper Bowl of Caring was Sunday, February 7. Thank you for your food and monetary donatons!
How do we collect donations while the church building is not accessible?
Every Saturday from 10AM-noon, parishioners can drop off non-perishable food at the home of Barbara and Jim Hughes. At noon, the donations are immediately delivered to our partners. Email the parish office for more details. You can also order from the Walmart Registry and your donation will be sent to the Hughes home for delivery. North Porch items can also be dropped off to Stacy Wilde’s front porch at any time.
