Youth
There are many ways in which the youth are involved at Grace Church. Many of them sing in our choirs, serve as acolytes, ushers, and assisting ministers, as well as assist with leading children’s programming. We are blessed to have such a great group of talented and energetic youth here at Grace; they are most certainly an integral part of our family of faith.
Currently the youth program consists of two groups a Jr. High group for those in 7th and 8th grades, and a Sr. High group for those in 9th-12th grades. Sr. High Youth meets in upstairs from the church offices every Sunday at 11:15 am. These Sunday morning gatherings are times for discussion, reflection, and fellowship.
We also have a variety of different youth group activities throughout the year. Some of these events have included visiting a corn maze in the fall, snow tubing in the winter, going bowling, having a game night, and going on a camping trip.
The youth also do a variety of different outreach projects which have included serving at a soup kitchen, assisting with Grace Church’s Re-Start Ministry, and delivering food to the hungry in the area. Input is always welcome from the youth to help decide what we would like to do.
Confirmation All youth in grades 8 and up are invited to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation itself usually occurs in May, but in order to be confirmed all youth must complete the confirmation classes held at Grace Church, which begins in November. Classes are held most Sunday evenings November-May from 7-8 pm. For more information please fill out the form and contact the clergy.
If you have any questions or comments regarding the youth programs here at Grace Church, please do not hesitate to contact the clergy.
Youth Lock-In

Rite 13 is a ceremony that celebrates a child's rite of passage into adolescence. Rite 13 offers a way to mark the transition to adolescence while saving the rite of confirmation for high schoolers who have had more time to grapple with what they believe. Rite 13 is a complement to Confirmation, not a replacement. This is an opportunity for families and friends to gather and recognize the maturation of our youth. The ceremony is for youth turning 13 before the next school year starts or who have turned 13 since last July. Most who participate are in 7th or 8th grade.
An application form for participation in the next ceremony of September 2019 can be submitted to the church office (see form).
