Pizza Compline is the first Wednesday
the month from 5:30–7:00 pm
Compline or Night Prayer, is the final church service at the end of the day. During the program year (Septmeber to May) on the first Wednesday of each month, we have Compline for Kids, a special family friendly service. We begin at 5:30pm making pizzas in the kitchen with a member of the clergy. Families are encouraged to bring their favorite toppings to add to their pizzas. While the pizzas are in the oven, the children work on a service project.
Some of the projects have included Valentines for service organizations in our community (firemen, EMT members and policemen), Easter Cards for people in nursing homes, packing goodies to send to service men and women overseas.
After eating our pizza, we move into the church for the Compline service. A member of the clergy officiates the service, and Dr. Anne leads us in song. The children are the acolytes, bell-ringers and oblation-bearers, and play music as well - a true educational and spiritual experience.
For more information contact Fr. Asa.
Pizza Communion is the third Wednesday
of the month from 5:30–7:00 pm
Join us for an abbreviated Holy Eucharist service, with lots of opportunities for children to participate. Similar to our program Pizza Compline, this event is specifically designed for families to worship together. Children ages 3-10, and their families, begin in the parish kitchen by making pizza together at 5:30 pm with Father Asa. Next everyone joins Pastor Hilary for a craft in Nieman Hall while the pizza cooks. Following dinner the community joins around the altar for Holy Communion. If you would like to play an instrument for the offertory, speak with Dr. Anne.
