Friday Nights

Grace has family and children’s events each month on Friday nights. Adults and families congregate on the first Friday evening of each month for our First Friday potluck dinner and parishioner presentation. The Third to Sixth Graders meet on the second Friday evening of each month for a Far Out Friday event. And the Kindergarten to Second Graders meet on the third Friday of most months for a Groovy Grace event.

Far Out Fridays

Once a month, Grace offers Far Out Fridays for youth in Third to Sixth Grade. These evenings are held from 4:45 pm to 7 pm and include dinner, a discussion of a spiritual topic and games. Many times we bring in special speakers. In past Far Out Fridays, we have explored yoga, communicating with peers, meditation, poverty, and Jesus’ final walk to the cross.

Groovy Grace Nights

Children in grades Kindergarten to Third Grade congregate once a month on a Friday evening, from 4:15 pm to 6:30 pm to make and share dinner, play games, create crafts and explore one aspect of their spirituality. Before Thanksgiving, we played Thanksgiving games and made Thanksgiving crafts. We have had Our Father puzzle races, hot chocolate taste tests and created snowflake chains.

First Friday Potluck Movies

Grace offers a potluck dinner for the entire parish on the first Friday night of every month. Older children, who do not take advantage of our Nursery care during these evenings, are invited to enjoy a movie in the Library while the grown ups listen to a First Friday speaker. This is always a fun, inter-generational event. Movies that are chosen for the children are always parent-approved and popular.
