Adults

Grace has an active fellowship of adults who meet regularly in small and parish-wide groups to socialize, deepen their spirituality and help others in the community and in our parish. In addition to daily services, we offer weekly fellowship opportunities at different times of the day and evening. We have a monthly potluck supper as well as monthly Men’s and Women’s book groups. There are many opportunities to contribute and socialize at Grace.

Adult Sunday Seminars

Our weekly Adult Seminar meets each Sunday between the 9 and 11:15 am services at 10:25 am. These seminars cover a range of topics that are designed to help parishioners deepen their spirituality and learn more about the work of local ministries in our parish and around the community. Seminar topics have included: the Anglican poets, parenting from the center, the Episcopal Relief and Development Organization in Haiti, living a Christian Life with Bruce Rudin and Dora Monserrate, and the work of the Community Soup Kitchen in Morristown.

"Discovering the Bible" Kerygma Study Class

Our Rector, Mother Lauren, teaches a bible study course that explores the stories in the Old and New Testaments. Our "Kerygma" class meets two Thursday mornings a month and is studying, currently, the Old Testament.

Adult Inquirers’ Class

Twice a year Mother Lauren offers an Adult Inquirers’ class for parishioners who wish to explore what it means to be an Anglican or Episcopalian and for those who would like to be confirmed or received in the Episcopal Church. (Parishioners who have been previously confirmed in the Catholic Church are "received" in the Episcopal Church rather than confirmed, again.) This class usually meets one night a week for 4 to 6 sessions in the Fall and is often held in the Spring, as well.

Seasonal Study Groups

Study groups offer a chance for exploration of a specific topic or a specific book in a small, discussion-oriented environment. Father Scot and Mother Lauren lead these groups and recent offerings have focused on the extent of poverty in the United States, the book What Jesus Meant by Gary Wills and most recently, Eclipsing the Empire, a video series on Apostle Paul's footsteps through the Roman Empire.
